PTFE (TFE) and Kynar both are experiencing long lead times.

Teflon  product PTFE (TFE) along with Kynar-PVDF  manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar which is mined in Mongolia and China. The worldwide need for this mineral has grown significantly, as well as the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance and incredibly low co-efficient of friction (slippery) and is used throughout a great deal of applications from non-stick fry kitchenware to ptfe tape for personal use. This mineral is a critical raw material within the production of fluoropolymers, fluorolubricants and several refrigerants. This surge in demand mixed with shortage of raw materials has caused a dramatic price increase (almost double over the last year), shortages, and we expect both these factors to keep at it in the near future.
